About the Event
Welcome to BIPOC USHR's youth discussion groups. Every Saturday starting from February 12th and ending on March 26th, 2022, we have online discussion groups from 1pm - 3pm. This is a space for conversation and connecting. This is a space for understanding, for yourself, what it means to be a BIPOC youth under the age of 18.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It's pretty easy, actually. The group runs for two hours and has a peer facilitator who helps guide the conversation, but participants can share or talk about whatever they like.
WHAT ARE THE RULES?
The rules are simple too.
Confidentiality is paramount. What is said in the room stays in the room. Every participant is expected to protect and respect the privacy of other participants.
Share the conversational space. No one participant should take over the conversation. Everyone should have a chance to speak comfortably.
No judgment. There will be no judgment of other people's choices or beliefs. Debate can happen, but it should always be respectful.
Anti-oppression. No oppressive language should be spoken. Racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, classism etc., need to be kept out of this space.
